I've been taking a look at this [1] some time ago, how is the progress? I'm interested in doing some work on libshout, can I import the packaging into our (pkg-multimedia's) git area?

Well, I did intend to move those packages myself (when finished refreshing ghostscript and a pile of Perl libraries), but I have no problem letting you do it. Or actually, I do care how it is done, so...:

It is not a trick question - I do have some ideas myself - several approaches that I have tried on other packages, but none of them without flaws, so I am genuinely curious how you'd do it.
