Hi gregor, thanks for reaching out! For Ubuntu we would prefer to change this (optional) dependency back to Suggests (i.e. status quo), as Depends and Recommends are pulled into the "main" component, while Suggests can stay in "universe". Therefore, a Suggests would not trigger a component-mismatch and lengthy "Main Inclusion Process" (MIR) [0] and security-review process.
