To, My Illustrious Leaders and Members of the Pulseaudio maintenance team, In my Lenovo system the PA Volume control and gnome sound recorder are successfully monitoring system sounds, but gnome sound recorder isn't recording them.
The details are explained in the snapshots and ogv video, uploaded here: http://bit.do/PA_SndRec_Stream I began from the Debian Forum here: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=149074 The Lenovo site says that the audio driver is Realtek audio drivers "Lenovo ideapad 320-15ISK" LNVNB161216 with the following details: Realtek Audio_6.0.1.8652.A Then I posted to: "debian-laptop" <[email protected]>, https://lists.debian.org/debian-laptop/2021/03/msg00011.html and "debian-user" <[email protected]>, https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2021/03/msg00669.html Then as suggested from debian-user, went and posted at Alsa, here: https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg33005.html Solution from alsa wasn't as satisfactory as that with PulseAudio installed. Could you please help in this regard, so that I could record audio while playing one, in duplex mode? Outline of details/specifications of my used Lenovo laptop are also in the Debian Forums post (to avoid clutter and maintain centralised notes). http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=146606 Select portion of hardinfo report for the Lenovo laptop: [...] Processor : 4x Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6006U CPU @ 2.00GHz Memory : 2041MB (1211MB used) Operating System : Debian GNU/Linux 9.11 -Display- Resolution : 1366x768 pixels OpenGL Renderer : Mesa DRI Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 (Skylake GT2) x86/MMX/SSE2 X11 Vendor : The X.Org Foundation -Multimedia- Audio Adapter : HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH HDA Intel PCH Mic HDA Intel PCH Headphone HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm : 3= HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm : 7= HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm : 8= [...] Kernel Modules -------------- [...] -Loaded Modules- rndis_host : USB Host side RNDIS driver cdc_ether : USB CDC Ethernet devices usbnet : USB network driver framework uas usb_storage : USB Mass Storage driver for Linux cmac : CMAC keyed hash algorithm rfcomm : Bluetooth RFCOMM ver 1.11 ctr : CTR Counter block mode ccm : Counter with CBC MAC fuse : Filesystem in Userspace [...] snd_soc_skl : Intel Skylake ASoC HDA driver snd_soc_skl_ipc : Intel Skylake IPC driver snd_soc_sst_ipc : Intel SST IPC generic intel_rapl : Driver for Intel RAPL (Running Average Power Limit) snd_soc_sst_dsp : Intel SST Core [...] snd : Advanced Linux Sound Architecture driver for soundcards.
