Dear Maintainer,

If you backup the systemd-machined default directory ("/var/lib/machines") with
borgbackup,
is one way to segfault systemd-machined.
Systemd State is now: degraded.

Backup the folder without crash, of course.

I test this little patch and it no longer crash:
https://github.com/codepeon/systemd/commit/1600b38cd2029533547f8c3d4abfa12911ca0630.patch
It apply to current stable release without Problems.
i test with "dpkg-source --commit" and "debuild -us -uc"

This patch has landed in v250, so I'm marking the issue as closed for that version. I assume by filing this against the bullseye package, you want to see this fixed via a stable upload?

I tagged the bug report so it shows up at [1]. Should we make another stable upload, we can consider this issue. The fix is small enough after all.

Michael
