severity 596284 important tag 596284 patch thanks i took a look at this. the issue is that even though initctl is now in /run, the postinst continues to try to create a symlink for the old initctl in /dev. attached is a patch that detects the situation when there isn't an old initcl and avoids the symlink attempt. see attached.
