Package: sysvinit Version: 2.88dsf-59.4 The sysvinit-core package has several dependencies which are absent from sysvinit, most notably initscripts and sysv-rc | file-rc. In the not too distant future it should become possible to actually remove the initscripts package, and without initscripts booting with init=/lib/sysvinit/init will probably not give a functional system.
