Hi,

the cockpit upstream tarball contains some empty directories. When
importing this into git, they get lost.. and then trying to build that
fails.

It would be nice if you could make sure that the upstream build system
either creates them, or doesn't fail.

Recent upstream versions don't ship any significant empty directories:

  ❱❱❱ find -type d -empty
  ./test/reference

That is just a git ref to a subproject, which integration tests will recreate.
The build system does not care about it at all.
