Package: network-manager-gnome Version: 0.6.6-4 Severity: normal
It appears that /etc/xdg/autostart/nm-applet.desktop starts for my gnome-session. As I am just a normal user, $ id daniel uid=1001(daniel) gid=1001(daniel) groups=24(cdrom),29(audio),1001(daniel) this doesn't have enough privileges and complains (in ~/.xsession-errors): ---snip--- ** (nm-applet:5026): WARNING **: <WARN> nma_dbus_init(): could not acquire its service. dbus_bus_acquire_service() says: 'Connection ":1.33" is not allowed to own the service "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo" due to security policies in the configuration file' ---snip--- *every 5 seconds*. One warning would be plenty, followed by an exit of nm-applet. regards, Daniel Skorka -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages network-manager-gnome depends on: ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.1-5 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.76-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libgconf2-4 2.22.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglade2-0 1:2.6.2-1 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.6-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-keyring0 2.22.3-2 GNOME keyring services library ii libgnome2-0 2.20.1.1-1 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomeui-0 2.20.1.1-2 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgtk2.0-0 2.12.11-4 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libnm-util0 0.6.6-3 network management framework (shar ii libnotify1 [libnotify1-gtk2.1 0.4.4-3 sends desktop notifications to a n ii libpango1.0-0 1.20.5-3 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libx11-6 2:1.1.5-2 X11 client-side library ii network-manager 0.6.6-3 network management framework daemo Versions of packages network-manager-gnome recommends: ii libpam-gnome-keyring [l 2.22.3-2 PAM module to unlock the GNOME key ii network-manager-openvpn 0.3.2svn2855-1.1 network management framework (Open ii network-manager-vpnc-gn 0.6.4svn2806-1 network management framework (VPNC ii notification-daemon 0.3.7-1+b1 a daemon that displays passive pop network-manager-gnome suggests no packages. -- no debconf information _______________________________________________ Pkg-utopia-maintainers mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-utopia-maintainers
