Consider, for example, some small laptop with a 1024x600 panel, X already started up. Now hotplug a 1024x768 projector being used at full resolution and enable it via xrandr; unless compositing is disabled or this bug is fixed, you'll get a black bar across the lower 1/5 of the projected display. However, if the additional outputs are being used as clones or all outputs are explicitly configured in xorg.conf then this is largely irrelevant... -- | Darren Salt | linux or ds at | nr.
