querying current mouse state

Hi,

Is there any class or function available in Qt or KF5 that allows to query the 
current state of the mouse on X11 and/or Wayland and that is not based on 
internal event handling? Alternatively, is such a function available in a 
library that is already used anyway by every application that puts up a GUI?

I know I can use XQueryPointer under X11 so if there's a Wayland equivalent for 
that function that'd be fine too.
