Thanks.

A comment and a question.

1. Comment. GNU configure generally takes care of such issues
if invoked/configured correctly, or can prompt the user so that the
user can manually find the information. It might be useful for the
maintainers/developers to fix this "feature".

2. The Plex86 site seems to advertise that MS Win95 now "boots". I
need MS Win applications, native, to handle some of the proprietary
format files I receive from colleagues and neither ApplixWare nor
StarOffice have good enough filters, in some cases. I currently use
VMWare under linux to run gatesware as an application. The old
Plex86 caveats splashed all over the site (experimental code,
untrustworkty, etc.) do not appear now until the actual code is cvs
downloaded. For those who need to co-exist with gatesware, do not
want dual boot, and want to wean from overpriced proprietary
applications, how stable in fact is Plex86? Any timelines as to when
it will be comparable to VMWare in stability? When will it be
available not only in source, but as a linux package (.rpm, .deb,
or even .tar.gz) a la VMWare or even more portable? I assume that
if Plex86 does not support local samba (this is the trick VMWare uses
to get to the linux side resources), because samba is public source,
Plex86 soon can/will.

Thanks.
