I downloaded the FreeDos images and got them working; cool! ftp://ftp.plex86.org/guestOS/1.44_FreeDOS.mini ftp://ftp.plex86.org/guestOS/10M.FreeDOS.gz Now I've just taken my first stab at booting linux under plex86, and I've encountered some frustration trying to figure out where the disk images are supposed to go. That is to say, I tried getting the example conf/linux to boot slackware's net.i boot disk and color.gz root disk. ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-7.1/bootdsks.144/net.i ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-7.1/rootdsks/color.gz I copied the kernel from inside net.i to linux.img, copied color.gz to initrd.img and 1.44a, and ran './plex86 -f ../conf/linux'. It started, popped up a blank window, and quit with the error Running VM ::plex86 panic: ::monPageFault: MapLinPPageOOB: Fatal monitor error caused Panic ... 0010.00100012 F3A5 rep movsl %ds:(%esi), %es:(%edi) I think I just need a conf file and one or two disk images that are known to work.
