Yes, but IA64 market is practically non-existant, while IA32 is still a
most frequently used arch and plex86 should be good for it. I think Intel
should try very good with McKinley to really push IA64.

Right, and there are Sparcs and others. I guess Kevin simply doesn't have
a time to run both projects at once. Perhaps also because pushing the
performance of bochs is probably a lot more time-consuming task cause it
requires much heavier dynamical translation than plex86. To me, plex86
looks like logical step towards future bochs.
