It sounds like the kernel version you are running is different
from the kerne source code you have installed.
Try updating your kernel and kernel-source packages. If that
doesn't work, compile a new kernel from the source you have
installed, then boot with it, then compile plex86 (making sure
you use the correct kernel source, the same one used to compile
the kernel, by using the --with-kernel-source (or whatever it
is.))
That should work.
Please note, I have never used Caldera, but the above should
work no matter what distribution you're using.
