Yes. When you compile, it links with *your* system and *your* kernel. While it's
a module, that isn't so important, but to make a rpm or whatever for everyone
would make about 100 different ones or so (different kernel versions, different
header files, different shared libs...). It's not really fesable. As well as
this, plex is only in the alpha stage right now, it's not *expected* to work
perfectly, but it works very well. Maybe it would be worth doing all those
different compiles when it's on a stable release.
