This isn't bullshit. Out of experience I can say that it just doesn't work if you don't have a CVS everybody can use. You have a big chance of doing duplicate work, merging patches later on is hard. People can see what that development is done and can test things. A lot of people asked for the CVS repository, they seem to consider it important, so do I. People are leaving the project at the moment, let's stop that.
