It'd be nice if the gstreamer0.10-lame package would install some gstreamer encoding profiles when it's installed. When you install the rest of gstreamer you get a few default profiles - cdlossless, cdlossy, voicelossless, voicelossy - but these all use free formats. There's no default profiles for MP3 encoding. This means that even after installing gstreamer0.10-lame, apps that use the profiles defined this way (they're in gconf, under /system/gstreamer/0.10/audio/profiles ) can't encode anything to MP3 unless you define a profile manually (which isn't very easy). The only app I know of that actually uses these profiles is sound-juicer, but that *is* quite an important app (the default CD ripper on GNOME). gstreamer0.10-lame seems to be the most sensible package to put these profiles in. -- Configure bugmail: https://plf.zarb.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are automatically notified of all bug changes. _______________________________________________ PLF-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://www.zarb.org/mailman/listinfo/plf-discuss
