Hello Plone Land.
It has been far too long that I've either seen any of you or
communicated in the mailing list.
Plone World Day is tomorrow and I wanted to share with you guys are
list of that we at
Enfold Systems have been doing. Some of it may be interesting and of
note for Plone World Day.
I will be at CMS Expo this coming up week. I hope to see a lot of you
guys there.
Here are some of the activities we have been involved with:
- All of Enfold Server is now open source. You can find the various
components in
our subversion repository.

- Most of the Enfold Desktop server extensions are also public. We
are in the process
of trying to release all of Enfold Desktop's source code. We would
love to support
Vista/Windows 7 in Desktop; unfortunately it is not supported at this time.
- We have initial integration (as in works for us) of zc.async into
Zope2/Plone available in SVN.
plone.async namespace. We have a customer where concurrent writes
were a problem.
With this package we are getting approximately 80 concurrent users
in our tests. zc.async
is really fantastic. Although zc.async is not a replacement for
traditional messaging
use cases. There is definitely room for a "z3c.messaging"
integration for queues such
AMQP or beanstalkd.
- We have a set of patches that are up for the taking, enfold.fixes
which fix a number
of problems we have had with Plone 3.x; this were also used to get
to the 80 concurrent users.
Also Enfold Proxy made its first 6.0 release. This ships with XDV
built-in. So now people
on Windows can use XDV. We are looking for feedback. Several
customers are in production
with the latest Enfold Proxy 6 already.
