Ok. My schedule: This week: I will try PLplot with Tcl/Tk from fink to see if I have any better luck. This weekend: I will update release notes, etc, and get started on the release process. Next weekend: This is likely when I will actually get everything done as I should have a day or two of PLplot time over the holiday (Thanksgiving).
