If MSYS is not set automatically then something must be wrong. Look here http://www.cmake.org/Wiki/CMake_Useful_Variables#System_.26_Compiler_Information You need to find out what is going wrong here, since MSYS must be TRUE if you start cmake in the MSys environment. Did you rename mingw32- make to make - MSys doesn't like this at all. Maybe cmake tests make to find out if MSys is running? MSYS uses UNIX like paths, so that's the reason why one must use forward slashes.
