@James: To help guide Andrew's decision, very roughly how long (days,
months, or years?) do you estimate it will be before the
gnudatalanguage-cvs version (with the adjustment for our C++
plstream::wid API breakage) gets officially released?

@Andrew: If such a release is not expected any time soon, then I
suspect you agree with me that this C++ API breakage for the
PL_DEPRECATED case should be fixed for our next release (which is
labelled as a stable release and which should be out within a month or
so).  Of course, we would want to remove plwid and plstream::wid
altogether in one of the subsequent development release cycles.
