I don't believe this is the issue.  I just checked with the "ps auxww"
command that wxPLViewer was not running, executed examples/c/x01c -dev
wxwidgets, and that generated the error.

To pin down the cause of intermittent failures like this on Linux,
your best bet in my opinion is compile with CXXFLAGS=-g and use
valgrind.
