You shouldn't do that. Actually the streams are not meant to be opened and closed all the time. You should plot something, save it or whatever and then use pladv() to clean the plot and proceed. You use several streams only if you need several plots at the same time - I think nobody hardly needs more than 100 plots concurrently.
