This type of messages is indeed an indication that the loader can not find the
shared objects. (You are actually lucky that you get such a clear message, as
on Windows quite often the program simply stops immediately and one has to
guess the cause :().
Anyway, the errors you reported earlier about the compiler not finding a
specific routine for the generic name plshades could be due to an error in the
type (and kind and dimension) of one of the arguments. You have been able to
solve the error, but just for future reference, keep this in mind.
