P.S. I should have also stated that assuming you don't want to deal
with complications with local installations of lua, lasi, and qhull
and assuming your Ubuntu version provides cmake-3.7.2 or higher (our
minimum acceptable version of CMake for plplot-5.14.0 is 3.7.2, but
for the planned plplot-5.15.0 release that minimum CMake version will
likely be bumped to at least 3.13.2), then the above configuration
step can be simplified to
