Hi Plucker Team,

thanks for a great software. My Plucker DB has over 4 MB, most of my Palm
Mem is Plucker-DB, and I am a relatively fresh user.

I have a minor bug report to make:

Short info:

Try to put
http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.03/boutros_pr.html
into a Plucker DB.

See the intro sentence: "When IPOs give way to M&A, " - the "&A" is missing
in the Plucker view.

According to HTML standards, a & not followed by a proper SGML Entity should
just be put forth as a &. Plucker does not do this, I think it should.

Kind regards, keep on the good work

Long info (form from website):

1. Before reporting this bug I did:
[x] read the NEWS, README, INSTALL and FAQ files

1. Before reporting this bug I did:
[x] read the NEWS, README, INSTALL and FAQ files
[x] downloaded and tried the latest version of Plucker

2. What happened:
[ ] could not compile
[ ] could not install
[ ] crashed
[ ] cosmetic
[x] others: faulty representation (and, subsequently, display) of HTML
content, probably to be fixed in parser

3. Detailed description of what happened:

According to HTML standards, a "&" (ampersand) not followed by a proper
SGML
Entity should just be put forth as a &. Plucker does not do this, I
   think it should.

   For an example see
http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.03/boutros_pr.html

See the intro sentence: "When IPOs give way to M&A, " - the "&A" is
missing.

4. How to reproduce the bug, if known (if you have a PDB
that can be used then that can be very helpful for
tracking down errors in the Palm application):

   Load
   http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.03/boutros_pr.html
into a Plucker DB, view the document in Plucker.
Noticed the same with other files that have ampersands in them.

5. Configure options you specified:
[ ] --with-docdir=.....
[ ] --with-pluckerdir=.....
[ ] --with-pypluckerdir=.....
[ ] --enable-palmos
[ ] --enable-palmos-coff
[x] others: Windows defaults

6. The error occurred during:
[ ] configuration
[ ] compilation
[ ] installation
[x] parsing of a web page (URL:
http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.03/boutros_pr.html )
[x] use of Palm application

7a. Changes made to the configuration file (.pluckerrc/plucker.ini),
if the error occurred during parsing of web pages:
none

7b. Changes made to the Preference, if the error occurred during use
    of Palm application:
none, German application on Palm

8. Error messages output:
None.

9. Fix, if known:

Two ways: Fix HTML entity parsing, or put a preprocessing phase before the
parsing to put & where & w/o proper entity is found.

10. Other Notes:

Operating System: Windows 2000 Version:
Distribution (if applicable): German, Version: n/a

Palm OS version: 3.5, Palm IIIc
Plucker version: v1.1
Python version: don't know, came prepackaged w/ Plucker
