Dirk, I just managed to get Plucker running on a Windows laptop here
with my shiny new m505 Palm device. Very slick implementation. I like the
'View' options there. Perhaps a small wizard to help step people through db
creation? I may be doing it wrong, but I just did a "Add Database", gave it a
name, went to the folder, edited the Setup file, put in my params, and hit
Hotsync. Went smoothly, without a hitch on Win98.

        Now onto the suggestions ideas:

        1. Small typo in the stock Setup file (Plucker.ini), line 3: ";You
Username" should be ";Your Username". Minor thing.

        2. Are we supporting 16bpp yet in Windows? I tried to sync content @
16bpp, and it worked, however, no 16bpp images show up on the
device (yes, all the reasons why this would happen were checked)
           Mike?

        3. I would suggest we default the 'home_url' entry to be:

; Insert your URL between the quotes below

                home_url " "

for those people who have '&' and '|' in their URIs.

        4. When you install the software for the first time, the initial
values for Plucker.ini (in 'DB Template') should be set up first.
Without this, the users will have to manually edit each Plucker.ini
file themselves. The installation "Wizard" could do this for them
(you can also query Hotsync manager to get a list of usernames, and
prompt the user to pick one from the list)

        5. I created a database with the standard "Add Database" tool, then
deleted the folder entirely from disk ('DB advogato' in my
example). When I try to create another database with the same exact
name, I get 'Handle arready exists' (typo there on 'already', but..
=). Where is this stored? Perhaps DBTool should check to see if the
to create a database of the same name. Can the DBTool 'delete'
function be called when a user tries to delete a file/folder of
           this type?

        6. When I run "Delete a Database", and select a database, then click
on the "Delete" button, it asks me if I really want to delete the
database. If I say 'No' here, it gives me an error stating 'Error:
error deleting DB "foo"'. If I say 'No' to delete the database, it
should return me to the list, not throw an error.

I'll keep testing, but so far, it's very slick. I like the
architecture so far. Great work Dirk! Keep it up!

Now if I could only fix the usbserial code to work with the m505. I
got as far as having it recognize the data and the connect, but I can't seem
to get the "conversation" started under linux. Greg and I were testing out
some of his patches the other day.
