There's your problem. The Sony SDK cannot be a default sdk, only one of the Palm SDKs can. The Sony one is only meant as an extention to the Palm SDK. Rename sdk-sony to sony-sdk and re-run palmdev-prep. I think that the program is attempting to search for all sdk-* directories and automatically selects as the default the latest one, alphanumerically.
