Is there such a thing somewhere as a "Plucker Viewer for Desktop", ie something
that allows one to view Plucker files on Windows (and other Desktops) ?

Hi Ken,

Yes there is. Bill Nalens wrote one in wx (using Bill J's libexplode), and Bill Janssen in GTK. Both are available in CVS. (in /viewer-GTK, and the /tools/viewer-wxwindows).
Here is a link for the latter in a setup binary, since I remember the thread:

Will be rolled into the Windows package in the future as a check/uncheck selection.

For example, there are several freeware apps that allow viewing on Windows of
DOC files in .pdb form.

Such a thing is helpful for identifying .pdb files stored on hard disk (for
example, I recently came across a DOC file called "ReferenceGuide.pdb", with no
idea which program it was documentation for. :-) ). And, I have several
ebooks as Plucker files, and would want to know that I could read these ebooks
years from now, if PalmOS became s

There was some consideration of using .plkr as the extension, but it needs to be .pdb as some OS's won't load it onto a Palm otherwise. I forget the status of why we aren't calling them somefile.plkr.pdb, similar to somefile.tar.gz or somefile.i386.rpm

Best wishes,
Robert
