        As I recall, the issue was based around the fact that the default
setup on Windows, is to NOT show the file "extension" to the user in their
file manager. This is why exploits like BigBreasts.jpg.pif were rampant over
the last couple of years.

        Micrsoft considers the extension to be the letters from the end of
the file up to the first dot, so for most users, WiredNews.plkr.pdb would
show up as WiredNews.plkr (which actually, isn't such a bad thing, if
HotSync manager knows what kind of file it is).

        Other platforms don't care, generally, which I agree with.
