Dirk,

I was new to having a Palm when I found Plucker and terms like "Setup
Default Database" and "Setup your Channels" where not obvious to me.
Also I am guilty of ignoring Start Menu icons and I go straight to the
install directory to look for executables.

Finding Plucker in the first place took some searching. I did not see it
in the typical Palm download sites. I searched around hoping to find
something like Plucker and I did.

I found it strange to have to build a local html file to download
content - so I just figured out how to use plucker-build from the
command line. This was based on my experience with other web site
downloaders like Homepage Downloader Pro (nag free shareware).

Now I know more about Plucker and how the developer intended it to run.
Thanks.

I tried and errored for a long time to try to download the news from
canoe.com. It kept finding links that took it away from the subtree I
was trying to get.

One or more of the news sites in the default.DB example hangs quite
regularly.

I am very familiar with this! Obviously I missed following your
instructions but I did learn a few things about Plucker and the Palm.
