I believe this is actually a FAQ -- the problem occurs when using Python2.2 or later. You have two (well, three if you count not using the python parser -- but that would mean using Java and that is hardly a desirable option is it ;-) ) options: 1) downgrade to a lesser Python version 2) Fix Url.py: take out the line that reads: "urlparse.uses_netloc.append ('plucker')"
For all the others: Could you also fix this line and see if it a) does work under Python 2.2/2.3 (does for me) b) does still work under Python 2.1/2.0/1.x?
Well, I'm using RedHat 8.0.94 (Phoebe beta 3), which contains Python 2.2. Editing the Url.py file fixed things for me, and made it possible to make a PluckerDB.pdb. However, the viewer won't work at all for me. I just figured it was because I didn't have a database uploaded, but once I did, I found I still have the problem. I'm trying to use this on a Tungsten T, I'm getting the following error when trying to launch the viewer:
Field68K.c, Line:253, Form object (field) not found
And it forces me to reset. Should I be grabbing the source and the PRC tools (and yanking my ROM, etc.) and compiling the viewer for this particular model, or should the viewer in 1.2 work with the Tungsten and does this error therefore indicate that I have different problems?
I notice that when I try to launch the Plucker User Guide, it tells me that I can't use Zlib compression on "this device." Ok, fine. I took out the zlib library. I still get the same error, and it still craps out. I tried making my database with `--doc-compression', but it still craps out. (Yeah, I know I shouldn't have expected that to work, but I was just trying to cover all the bases before sending this to the list.) What's the deal with Zlib compression on a Tungsten?
I really like the thought of this product, but I'm going CRAZY trying to get it to work.
Thanks, dk
