I can say with the visible/invisible back button that the image almost never collides on my clie NX-60, but I never see the back button except for a very brief instant when the image first loads.

I thought that that's how I did it... if the image is not tall enough
to overlap the back button, then it won't disappear. I'll double check
this when I commit this code into the main development branch.

Then you come across user interface issues, the user would be even
more confused becuase sometimes clicking and dragging will go
anywhere, but a small click and maybe a drag will go back?
When this comes out in an official/stable release, most of your
questions will probably go away becuase everything will work as
intended. Unofficial/unstable releases (such as whats on
hires.plkr.org at the moment) are meant for entertainment purposes
only and shouldn't be treated 'finished' :)
