I just uploaded a new version of the installer. It now looks at the DesktopPath value in the Registry. I know this value may not be present in versions prior to Palm Desktop 4.0, but since the conduit requires 4.0 anyway (because it links statically) this should not be a problem.
The old version's size was 2.635.435 bytes, the new version's size is 2.635.472 bytes. Anyway, this version should work, even without the DLLs in the PATH. In fact, you should remove the Palm Desktop DLLs from the Windows directory. Keeping them there is not a good idea.
