My excuses if this is a stupid question but with a 400 Mhz CPU and 64 MB of
RAM in my T3, I am wondering why there is no Plucker Parser available for
the Palm itself. It could fetch internet pages over Bluetooth or Wifi and
liberate me from my PC.
The wins of Plucker for me consist of:
1. Takes very little space on the Palm relative to websites 2. Renders fast due to all the pre-work 3. No bandwidth costs or waiting.
I have a UX50 (now). I -could- browse the web using it from almost anywhere. Lots of unprotected hotspots out there; I am profoundly greatful for the technological incompentence of Macintosh users, as a lot of them are on Macs. But connecting is still slow and drains my battery rapidly, while I can read plucked content for lots of hours... and it's formatted better. So I use Plucker for semi-static content - daily news, discussions, reviews, information about stuff. And I use the web for spur-of-the-moment content or traffic.
I don't see much "win:" in using Plucker for the latter. Although, if you have a web-enabled cell phone in the Seattle area, I have built a traffic website that works wonderfully on the Siemens S56 and S-E T68i. <g>
