I do. I have read all the Harry Potter, Wheel of Time, Scriptures, David Eddings, Raymond Feist, Narnia, Da Vinci Code, etc. Probably over 100 books. I am a hopeless bookworm. 1+ books a week fall to me and (usually) Plucker. > I went through a period a few months ago trying to minimise > the number of readers I have and settled on 2 for most frequest usage: > > * Weasel Reader for books - fast and supports free fonts and VFS. > * Plucker - for almost everything else. > I have used both and now just use Plucker. I have scripts etc. that I use to convert txt to html so I can get some formatting back into them; something I missed with Weasel. > I found that Plucker just wasn't suitable for book reading > where the need is to be able to load a book fast, read > comfortably, and scroll through pages fast if I want to move > back or forward dozens of pages at a time. > > With Plucker, the process is start App, Synchronise > Documents, Select Document, Load Document. I will agree that it can be a pain to navigate quickly through a book. I mitigate it somewhat by breaking up all of my books into separate files by chapter with an index. Built-in font render much more quickly than AA fonts. > Also, you start the book reader app and immediately the last > page you were looking at is visible. What can I say, I write software professionally to parse 100000 files a day in Java. I just need longer lunches. > > Cheers, > Stephen > > _______________________________________________ > plucker-list mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://lists.rubberchicken.org/mailman/listinfo/plucker-list > > Mark E-Mail messages may contain viruses, worms, or other malicious code.
