1 - maybe, depends upon the printer.

2 - do you mean a computer into the printer, not a printer?  Then it is 
possible to make a cat5 cable into a USB cable, but you have to change the 
connectors on the end to be USB - probably not worth the effort.  If the 
printer has cat5 (what, RJ45?) jacks then just connect it to your network, 
again assuming the printer can do both.  (Mine can - probably can do all 3 but 
I have wireless turned off on it so use usb and network)
