Interesting video says housing down turn is tied to tech :

He who forgets history is bound to repeat it. The Dutch tulip bubble.
The 1929 crash. The 2008 housing crash that nearly brought on SHTF. The
state governments can pass all the laws they want criminalizing
homelessness and build more prisons to house them, but if nobody can pay
the rent, the speculators must hold a fire sale. My dad told me all
about the Great Depression and Hoovervilles. And of course *everybody*
says "it's different this time." Different year, same shit.

If it hadn't been tech it would have been something else.

Float back to 2009 and 2010 and remember that ubiquitous phrase, "bank
owned properties." It's baaaaack.

Even if machines do every last bit of the work and normal people are
left jobless to starve, it's going to be a bad economy for everybody. My
advice is the same as it is every year: Don't spend money.

It should be interesting.... I;m glad I am old... Was a great life.....'
