Hey, I'm quiter new to Linux, and I had no idea what enlightenment was, so I checked out the site. I'd often wished I had a funkier desktop, so I dlded the rpm (I use RH9). When I tried to install it, it said

error: Failed dependencies:
        imlib2 is needed by enlightenment-0.16.7.1-1.fc2
        libImlib2.so.1 is needed by enlightenment-0.16.7.1-1.fc2
        libasound.so.2 is needed by enlightenment-0.16.7.1-1.fc2

so I downloaded imlib2-1.1.1.tar.gz, untarred it and went looking for docs. There was no documentation on how to install it, so I did the usual i.e.

./configure
make
make install

I retried rpm -i enlightenment-0.16.7.1-1.fc2.i386.rpm, and it still failed.

I did a whereis and I find that imlib2 exists is /usr/local/bin, libImlib2.so.1 and libasound.so.2 are in /usr/local/lib. I added /usr/local/lib to the path, and retried installing the rpm, but got the same error.

Can someone please help?

cheers
Sid
