Hi! I won't say I found SuSE 9.1 less stable than 9.0, but it didn't support my PCI network card, which 9.0 supported fine. Infact, when I had 9.0 installed on one partition, and 9.1 installed on other. As soon as I installed 9.1, my NIC stopped responding! I tried Ping. While sending or receiving ping, the NIC light did blink, so there was some activity, but there was no output on console; and it said 100% packet loss. I removed 9.1, and did a fresh instal of 9.0, which is working fine now, without any problems with the NIC.
The funny part is, both 9.0 and 9.1 identifyed my NIC as Myson Surecom EP-320X-S. The NIC's driver floppy says it's: Realtek RTL8139/810X Family PCI Fast Ethernet Card. The drivers for linux on that floppy read: Myson MTD80X Based Fast Ethernet Card. I'm a bit confused now... How come both 9.0 and 9.1 identify it as Myson Surecom EP-320X-S? On that, under 9.0, the card works fine, but under 9.1, it gives problems...could this be because of unsupported kernel 2.6.4 in 9.1? Other than this, I think 9.1 is absolutely fine! (I miss the latest version of k3b, now that I'm back to 9.1!!) Regards, Kapil > I just want to know anyone have same experience ? > Please share with me . I have to suggest SuSE 9.1 to my friends also . > Did anyone feal that SuSE 9.1 is less stable than SuSE 9.0 ? -- "The Power to Imagine, is The Power to Create!" -TTux -- ______________________________________________________________________ Pune GNU/Linux Users Group Mailing List: ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) List Information: http://plug.org.in/mailing-list/listinfo/plug-mail Send 'help' to [EMAIL PROTECTED] for mailing instructions.
