Hi,
You say that Turbo Linux came pre-loaded on your PC.

If a company has to sell a computer with a pre-loaded OS, they have to
make sure that all the components in that machine have to be supported
by that OS
OR
if a particular component is there in their machine and is not
supported by that OS, they have to write their own drivers to make
that device working with that OS.

Hence it is possible that the modem in your machine is supported only
by the manufacturer of your PC.

If you have a Conexant chip modem, then you can download the free
version of the driver from Linuxant.com. if any other chip, then you
will have to do some R&D on it.

I suggest, you paste the output of
"cat /proc/pci"
on this list so that people may be able to help you, locating a driver
from Mandrake.
