Depending on how comfortable you are using linux you can start by
visiting www.linmodems.org and try running the scanmodem tool to
identify your modem then search for your modem driver on
www.linmodems.org or google.com chances are its a 'Conexant' (or
related brand) modem whose free speed-limited (14.4kbps) driver you can
get at www.linuxant.com
Or if you could get your hands on the Suse 9.1 professional distro
which some PLUG members have I believe that has some modem drivers
including a full-speed conexant one...
