This is a hangover of old exchanges, where only Pulse dialing was possible. That is still default for the "Old" connections. You have to request the exchange to enable Tone dialing on your line. I had same problem on one of my telephone lines. One letter to the exchange and it was changed in a couple of days. > > I havent bothered to check why or try to fix it or ask the phone > people...
