the dell wireless card is apparently a problem. the first few google
results suggest that ndiswrapper might be your only hope. but did not
dig too deep, so not sure.
also, the first few google results for your lan card suggest that it
works fine in the more recent distros. upgrade to something like fc2/3
or get a newer kernel.
for both above problems, do try with a recent knoppix to see if it works.

include support in the kernel. recompile. if compiled as module,
configure it to be loaded at boot time. reboot into new kernel. now
you should be able to mount ntfs. recent kernels even have ntfs write
support. dont know how reliable.
