I have to write a layer of glue which will accept the download TCP requests from the webserver and then download the files using say wget.
So, basically which language should I use? Java and Python are the choices that I am looking at.
Consider perl too. The interpreter is available for many platforms and can be invoked from the web page using something like mod_perl.
