Especially read the comments. Some are quite enjoyable, although i
wouldn't take most of them seriously .

And command line is a nicest userfreindly interface i have ever encountered. 
I could never remember the complex tab hierarchies inside gui's like
kde for configuration. I have always found editing the .kde files lot
easier and faster.

Well i think you haven't configured it right in the first place, but
neway your "reinstall everything if doesn't work" is the wrong way in
linux.

Ofcourse you have to, you can handle a child without a manual, but
when you are dealing with a expereinced guy in front of you , you do
need to have done your homework right.
