I am re-explaining my question. Facts: 1) We have two offices A and B located on different parts on the globe 2) We have a registered domain example.com 3) We have a third party mail server contract. Let me call it M 4) domain name of M is example.com 5) I have to set up a mail gateway between A and M, let me call it G 6) domain name of machine is again example.com. Let me refer to this domain name as gexample.com and domain name on mail server as mexaple.com 7) I have three users, [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] 8) foo and foo1 sit in office A, foo2 sits in office B. 9) when foo sends mail to foo1, sendmail on G sees it as local mail and asks procmail to deliver it locally. 10) When foo or foo1 wants to send it to foo2, I need my mail relay to send this mail to M. 11) currently this does not happen, sendmail rejects it saying user foo2 does not exist.
Now my question, can i use virtual users to help me clear this problem. I cannot send all mail to M. I need to keep local mail on G. Any ideas, thoughts, pointers? I am using sendmail, procmail and fetchmail, FC 4. You may suggest any other software combination, but please dont ask me to change distro as that is not possible.
