Hi all,
I've just installed Ubuntu 5.10 in my dual-boot box. I'm using D-Link 502T for BSNL broadband & using the USB interface from windows without any issues. Would like to use the same in Ubuntu. The D-Link 502T Modem/Router is not always on. The web interface leads me to believe that its also is Linux-based. Now these are the readings which I got from the lsusb commands when the modem/router is plugged in :-
             Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
<snip>Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 2001:5b00 D-Link Corp. [hex]
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
....
</snip>

Since lsusb is showing your card, it should work.
No asuming hat all DSl work same way, enter following command
'sudo pppoeconf'
A curses based wizard wil come up and will ask you different questions. Enter necessary things and you are done. You can choose to start connection at boot time. If not you can always start it with command 'pon dsl-provider'

I haven't used D-Link modem. But I am using BSNL provided modem (Huwei)in Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy). Let me tell you using DSL in Linux is really pleasure.
