Hello people
I am in the process of setting up a gateway to the internet for my
DataOne connection.
I want to set up Squid as the caching server, and also want to monitor
and filter the traffic (using iptables). I am using Fedora Core 3 for
the gateway machine.
Now, I could setup a gateway with eth0 on the 192.168.100 domain and
eth1 on 192.168.1 (the ADSL router) domain, and then get things
running.
That would mean 2 NAT's (from 192.168.100.* to 192.168.1.* on the
gateway, and 192.168.1.* to a public IP on the ADSL router). Is it
possible to reduce the NAT conversion to 1 while still having a
gateway for caching?
One possibility would be to have eth0 and eth1 on the same subnet.
But, routing would be tricky then - is there a way out?

Thanks in advance.
Nikhil.
