I did quite a lot of work in searching for a registrar that charges
the CHEAPEST rates. Here is what I found:
1. www.totalnic.com charges US$35.00 for two years and 17.50 for renewals.
You can make changes/mods in the registration data for free.
You can also pay by credit card. They will NOT host your website.
I registered admulinux.org here, but they will register com, org, and net.
2. www.registerfree.com will register your domain for free during certain
(but very rare) announced "free windows", but will normally charge
US$19.95 for a year. I have not tried this, and I read that they
did not handle well their first "free window" promo. Use at your
risk.
Whichever registrar you choose, it is better to have someone you trust
give you name service, not have the registrar do name service for you
because they might charge extra for this.
